We who have received abundance from the Lord and blessings that are too numerous to count should always be quick to lend a helping hand towards our fellow man. We shouldn’t be so self-involved that we turn a blind eye to the needs of those around us, but rather we’re to have compassion on them just as the Lord has compassion on us. The Lord is gracious and merciful and calls us to be the same and to carry on His example towards those who are hurting in this world. Never believe the lie that you can’t do anything. While it’s true we can’t do everything for everyone, we can do something for someone. (Psalm 145:8-10) (Galatians 6:2) (James 1:27)
How can you be a beacon of light showing God’s love, compassion, mercy and forgiveness towards those that you know are in need.

Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most to people. A smile, a hug, a word of encouragement can go a long way to change the other person’s outlook on life.
Yes, we can do “great” things, but it’s God working through us.. it’s HIS light that chases away the darkness.

it takes so little effort to see the hurt around us – much of the time we use that visual to realize how good our lives are…
We need to stop with the ego boost and get on bring Jesus to the hurting world…
right there with you on this post – been spending a lot of time on the fruits of the Spirit and this idea of action with people around us…
“Help someone? You’ve got to be kidding! Don’t you know how important I am to the church and community? I’m above that! Let someone else do the helping!”
The above statements we make verbally or by our actions fly in the face of Mark 10:45. We believe that as “Christians” we need to be involved in the big things, like healing the sick, raising people from the dead, etc. Jesus, on the other hand, took time from His busy day to play with the children and give their moms a time to rest. He built a fire – after His resurrection – and fixed breakfast for His disciples. He did a servant’s job and washed feet. Many of today’s Godly leaders of huge churches developed the church by first cleaning bathrooms. Do we want to be rewarded by men or God? Man’s accolades come quickly, then fade. God’s exaltation is forever! 1 Peter 5:6, James 4:10
